Utopia (Tableware) by Alda Tomás
2018 - 2019, Golden A' Bakeware, Tableware, Drinkware and Cookware Design Award Winner
Inspiration
The relief is inspired by pleats applied to origami, Japanese secular art on paper. A set where fluent and elegant curves predominate, delicacy and poetry.
Creativity
Each piece of Utopia features a construction of different reliefs that adapts to the shape, inspired by Japanese geometries, enhancing it and giving it dynamism.
Design Challenges
Alda Tomás did not encounter any design challenges while designing the award winning Utopia Tableware.
Production Technology
It was a tableware developed thinking about the daily domestic use, and also in hotelware, so it should have elegance allied with the resistance. The material is a high quality porcelain, and for each piece was used a suitable technology, such as roller, casting, high pressure casting and isostatic press.
